|
This study is aimed at the parents of children with mental retardation regard their perception for workplace-based employment. And this study attempts to find means and structures relating to employment and the effects and experiences of parents of people with intellectual disabilities through a qualitative research methodology focused on the analysis of human experience. The results of this study will provide the direction for the future rehabilitation of people with mental retardations as an important basis for understanding the parents recognized related to the vocational rehabilitation of parents of children with mental retardations. This study approaches to the phenomenological method to identify the perceptions, and to understand the topic and categories. The result of this study, 64 subjects targeted, 18 subject, were found five categories, and configure the consolidated statements regarding the recognition of parents of children with mental retardations. These items are, undeniable practical difficulties, the adaptation work and worry, child"s positive change, growth of parents and families, hoping about independence.
